Senate aide roped for dope at Capitol, say police

Share

Potflag_ Marcus Stanley, a senior economic adviser to California Senator Barbara Boxer, was arrested for attempting to bring marijuana into the Hart Office Senate building, according to U.S. Capitol police.

After the incident, Stanley quickly resigned.  SFX: Bong

Most dudes who leave government say they want to spend more time with their family.  Wonder if Stanley will say he wants to spend more time with his dealer.

Thing is, we have no shortage of guys who get caught trying to bring pot into government buildings.  Those who put their stash in the change tray or hand over their pipe to security before going through the metal detector might be the dumbest, but this Stanley dude was pulling down six figures for allegedly working with his brain.  Shouldn't he have a clue?

In the high irony department, Boxer might be especially cheesed as she's reportedly against Proposition 19, a ballot measure to legalize pot.
