Two Palm Coast, FL teenagers are under arrest after police say they accidentally called 911 during a car robbery, and operators listened in to their conversation.

According to dispatchers, 19-year-old Stefanie Vargas, pictured, and a 13-year-old friend were caught talking about items worth stealing and what should be left behind as they rummaged through a car on Sunday.

The teenagers apparently had no idea a 911 operator was listening to their every word.

Cops say when they arrived on the scene the pair still had the stolen property in their possession.

They were each charged with burglary.

pretty crazy that in the call you can hear one of the perps says that God works in mysterious ways and they are proving that point to the extreme by their own example.

While I can see why this made it on to the "dumb" blog, it's actually really depressing that we are laughing about kids who got arrested and are clearly heading down the wrong track in their lives. Sorry to be a party pooper, but that's just my personal opinion.

Well, if teenagers want to do acts of crime, then they will have to pay the price just like anybody else. These kids were not stealing candy bars, they were stealing a car, while successfully finding the tracking devices. They were into adult crime and deserve to be laughed at for their mere stupidity for butt calling 911. These girls were also heard discussing karma and the mysteriousness of how the Lord works. 2 things:

1. I commend the dispatcher for understanding what was going on. They're barely speaking English at times.

2. How sad that it took 5+ minutes of this dispatcher's time. Imagine how many people were in dire need of getting through to 911.

I have never called 911, luckly haven't had an emergency worth calling, and never done it with my butt. How do you do that? And how do you do that in the act of a crime???

I sure hope that they had more than one person manning the 911 desk. I don't think the operator would have hung on other wise. Plus, 911 is used to report emergencies. Crime is a fairly common cause of emergencies. I think that the operator acted appropriately and has amazing hearing besides!

Its easy to butt dial "911"... when you lock most phones once locked if a button is pushed it pops up with three options. "Cancel, unlock or emergency call" This is a safety feature on most phones that allows you to quickly dial 911 when the phone is locked. About 10 years ago when cell phones fist became popular you could do the same thing if you held down 9.

what I find funny is they talk about Karma... talk about Karma. While they are taking someone else's stuff their butt calls 911 to report them.
