Two suspected burglars are under arrest after committing a crook's Cardinal Sin: they stopped during a getaway to ask for directions.

Travis McKeaveney (picture far left) and Ryan Densmore  (near left) allegedly stole car parts from several local automotive businesses in Brandford, CT early Tuesday morning.  But they got lost as they were trying to flee with the loot and decided to ask a uniformed cop for directions to Interstate 91.

As they pulled away, the officer became suspicious when he noticed their rear license plate was covered by a paper towel. He pulled them over and found metal cutting saws with blades and eight catalytic converters.

A Connecticut officer said he thought the thieves would be a little more organized and intelligent. "Some criminals never cease to amaze me," he noted.

Densmore, 23 and McKeaveney, 24 are charged with larceny and burglary.
