Cindy McCain Flip Flops on Liking truTV
Last night I was on the truTV Twitter beat when I noticed a lass who went by the handle Cindyhm1, was energetically tweeting about our Operation Repo.
Someone tweeting about our shows is not unusual, but I always like to check out viewers, especially ones who seem extra psyched. Cindyhm1 wrote:
Two more of her tweets about our show followed, including one that contained the phrase, "...a woman just threw up on the repo man!"
Cindyhm1, it turns out, is actually Cindy McCain, wife of former presidential candidate Senator John McCain.
So truTV is important to her. I was so excited!
But then I noticed her opinion of truTV went negative. She said she was "changing the channel" and "picking up a book" instead. OMG -- nooooooo!
Oh SNAP! And like that, we lost a potential new superfan. But it totally seemed like there was some vast conspiracy of bookish Twitter twits who @'d her, pressuring McCain to disavow any allegiance to her new friend truTV. Maybe we're not as sophisticated as C-Span. McBummer!
A tear came to my eye as I found fans spontaneously rallied and testified to Cindy about how awesome we are:
And then, a miracle occurred! No, Cindy didn't say that guy could date her daughter... she turned truTV back on watched Most Shocking: Dumbest Criminals and was laughing out loud!
YE HAW!
