The Dumb As A Blog Tony Awards Roundup
Yes, the highlight of the entire evening, perhaps the Broadway season, came from Poison's Brett Michaels, at the end of the opening number in last evening's Tonys:
Man, I could watch that over and over again.
Contrary to early reports, he didn't break his nose, and a Tony spokeswoman has said Michaels simply "missed his mark." But for official play by play of the incident, I prefer this excerpt from The New York Times Live Blog of the Tony Awards:
Oh my god — did the lead singer of Poison just almost get crushed by a bit of scenery? Or did I dream that?
If you did, it appears that some Broadway dreams do come true.
Oh, and if you care about who won the awards and stuff, the musical based on the movie with the dancing British kid edged out a musical based on the movie starring toys from a Burger King Kids Meal, a musical based on Whitesnake and Bon Jovi songs and an upbeat, peppy musical about a woman's crippling bipolar disorder.
Fun!
