Dumb As A Blog Faceoff: Facts Are Facts
I stand accused of being wrong.
I stand accused of playing for and rooting for teams that may not be celebrating championships at the end of the season. Well, that may be. But do you know what these experiences do?
They build character. I quote the great John Belushi, who knew a thing or two about the difference between facts and character:
There are a lot of teams in Black Top Street Hockey who might quit when the going gets tough, but not the Mighty Squirrels, who ran hard till the final buzzer, shifted up their lines to jump-start the offense and pumped in a goal, salvaging our pride. It just so happens that when you play for the Squirrels, it's not facts and figures, it's not about the name on the back, it's about the acorn on the front.
It's a little thing called heart.

Maybe someday, Sam will understand that.
It's not the size of the squirrel in the fight it's the size of the fight in the squirrel. We play hard, we live hard and when the hockey gods do not smile upon us, The Mighty Squirrels will go down in defeat with a little something called dignity.
Or barring that, we'll just grab your nuts.
We'll see you in the playoffs.
