Dead Man Mayoring
Missouri is called the "Show Me State" but that obviously doesn't mean "Show Me You're Alive State," because in Winfield, MO voters just elected a dead leader.
Not only was Mayor Harry Stonebreaker re-elected after suffering a fatal heart attack March 11, the deceased candidate pulled in 90% of the vote.
According to Wikipedia, Missouri is considered a political bellwether state, which may mean that the majority of Americans would be happy with likable but non-breathing folks in office.
Advantages? Passed politicians probably pull less salary and it might just cut down on the number of sex scandals.
