Ironic Irony

Police_siren Police have their own code. A "perp" is a suspect. A "hook" means tow truck.

And when a superior officer says an officer did something "ironic," that really means "Boy, he screwed up in a very embarrassing way."

Florida Deputy Keith McInnis just did something very, very ironic.

Driving a squad car "specially outfitted to help curb aggressive driving," McInnis made an unexpected U-turn on Friday, pulling into the path of a 69-year-old woman, who crashed into the cop's vehicle. She had to be taken to the hospital.

McInnis is now less ironic. He's been assigned to limited and light duty.
