For the most part, the human race is… how shall we say… dumb. Which is why you’re reading this blog, of course. But even the overwhelmingly dumb veer from just plain old stupid, to shockingly desperate at times – begging for attention by mutilating their bodies, or transparently courting the media with stunts. Here are ten of the dumbest desperate cries for attention:
1.) The Cry: Human Ashtray Extinguishes 70 Cigarettes On His Tongue
Why It Was Dumb: First of all, nicknames like “The Human Ashtray” or “Mr. GarbageCan” aren’t complimentary… Unless of course your name is Richie Magic to begin with, like this guy. Its ridiculous – and disgusting – enough to publicly eat 70 cigarettes in the middle of a public park. But guess why he did it? As an anti-smoking message to kids. Because kids will see a guy getting a lot of attention for doing something insane, and say, “I’m not going to do that.” Nice one, Mr. Magic. [aolweird.com]
When it comes to apologies, there are two kinds. There’s the straight up, “I’m sorry I killed your dog, I’ll never forgive myself,” type of apology. And then there are apologies so spectacularly dumb, they come out the other side, making the apologizer look like the Mayor of Awfultown (NOTE: Awfultown is actually not that bad during the Summer Harvest Festival, just saying.)
Lucky for you, we’ve got 10 of the dumbest apologies of all time in one place for you, so you can relive the wincingly earnest, the backhanded, and the just plain stupidest requests for forgiveness ever made.
1.) What Was The Apology: "I've told Rihanna countless times and I'm telling you today, I'm truly, truly sorry that I wasn't able to handle the situation both differently and better."
Who Made It: Chris Brown
Why It Was Dumb: When “the situation” you are referring to is “punching your girlfriend in the face,” how exactly would you have handled it better? Maybe by “not” “punching” her in the “face?”
