Toby Sheldon, a Los Angeles-based songwriter, is so obsessed with Justin Bieber that he spent a whopping $100,000 Frankensteining his face with plastic surgery to look like the Canadian singer.
This seems a little bit bizarre, given that there are lots of people around the world would pay $100,000 not to have to see Bieber everywhere they turn. Bieber, on the other hand, probably spends that much daily just to take care of his trademark tresses.
Still, Sheldon’s fascination with the singer seems almost un-Beliebable. As Gawker reports, “Spurred by an acknowledged fear of aging, Sheldon says he’s undergone multiple plastic surgeries, Aquamid injections, and hair transplants ‘to look like Justin.’”
Unfortunately, instead of looking like Bieber, Sheldon now looks more like — well, a 33-year-old adult trying to look like Bieber. He even spent about $15,000 to have a controversial procedure known as “smile surgery,” in order to help obtain the tabloid punch line’s youthful smile — though some people interpret that goofy expression as Bieber’s arrogant smirk.
Sheldon may now find himself winning the hearts of girls everywhere — but unfortunately for him, at 33 years old, he’s probably old enough to be those girls’ father. Now it’s time to start waging bets on what lasts longer: the amount of time before Sheldon regrets the surgery or the pop singer’s career. Both are bound to taper out faster than one can say “shirtless selfie.”
