An incumbent city council candidate in Canada delivered a real life spoiler after he went knocking on local residents’ doors on Sunday evening, interrupting the series finale of the acclaimed AMC show Breaking Bad.
Calgary representative Gian-Carlo Carra lost track of time and accidentally knocked on peoples’ doors during the program’s tense final broadcast.
As Metro Canada reports, “The incumbent city council candidate was doing his door-knocking rounds, talking to constituents ahead of the Oct. 21 municipal election, apparently unaware he might be interrupting the emotionally gripping series finale of what is widely hailed as the best show on television ever.” Unsurprisingly, people turned him away quicker than a Jehovah’s Witness on Christmas.
After the incident, Carra apologized and asked for forgiveness from the residents of Ward 9, which was where he was campaigning. Apparently, people really are much nicer in Canada, because had he made that mistake in the certain parts of the U.S., he might have ended up with the same fate as (SPOILER ALERT!) Walter White.
It seems Carra may not be the right man to represent the people, seeing as how he doesn’t have any understanding of the most serious, pressing issue in North American history: What happens to Jesse once Walt gets back to New Mexico?
It’s not clear whether “ruining the end of the best TV show of all time” is part of this guy’s official platform, but if is, then he has about as much chance of winning as a guy who sends pictures of his junk to underage women. So he has a decent chance of winning.
Perhaps Carra should consider changing his slogan to: “I am the one who knocks… at really bad times.” After this faux pas, he’ll be lucky if his entire career doesn’t break bad.
