Forgetting your car keys is a mild inconvenience at best for most people. For Frank Laviguer, though, it may have meant the difference between getting away with another bank heist and hiding from the cops behind a drinking fountain.
According to KOMO News, the 57-year-old robbed the Wells Fargo branch on 11th Avenue in Portland, Oregon yesterday, when he forgot his car keys in the bank. Unable to drive off, he ran into an office building and hid behind a water cooler, the Oregonian reported. Wonder how that worked out? Read on…
If you guessed not so well, you are correct! Yeah, hiding behind a water cooler is stupid, and the police promptly arrested Laviguer. You’d think an old pro like Laviguer would have learned to hot wire a car at some point in his criminal career. Kids take note of the lesson to apply yourself, even if it’s applying yourself to a life of crime.
During his arrest Laviguer pretended to be sick and was briefly sent to the hospital. Of course, he’s about as good of an actor as he is a criminal so his stay didn’t last very long.
The arrest ended Laviguer’s crime spree, which lasted several weeks. From August 14th – September 8th he robbed three banks and two motels. With a busy schedule like that, I guess you’re bound to make a mistake or two.
