Police arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly broke into a Texas church yesterday claiming he just wanted to “pray.”
According to UPI, Juan Ramon Maldonado, pictured, tried to force open the doors of Silver Springs Baptist Church to have a word with God. Unfortunately for Maldonado, you’re not supposed to bug the Lord any ol’ time. As it clearly says in Deuteronomy 22:28-29, “And lo, the Lord thy God’s office hours are from 9am — 5pm.” Some people really need to crack open their Bibles more often.
A nosy church lady reportedly hit the gossip jackpot when she witnessed this go down…This unidentified woman in the church at the time said she heard someone trying to break in and saw Maldonado enter the church. After the woman double-checked with church staff to make sure that he wasn’t supposed to be in the building, she called the police to report an attempted prayer theft.
Maldonado was found by the police sitting at the piano in the sanctuary. He reportedly told the cops that he “came to pray.” KTRK reported that Maldonado was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail were he’s probably praying for a good lawyer right about now.
