Thou shalt not steal.
That’s one commandment fundamentalist Evangelical Pastor Doug Sehorne should pay more attention to in church.
According to the Huffington Post, the fire and brimstone pastor got burned after he borrowed a family photo from the Internet for his new eBook. He figured that if it pops up on a Google Image search then it’s OK to use. Well, it’s not and the photo he used was of the Dunphys from “Modern Family,” the “wicked TV show involving a gay couple.” As you’d expect, the fundie freaked out.
On his Facebook page, which has now been deleted — I’m assuming someone finally told him Facebook was created by a Jewish atheist — he went all Old Testament on the show. Sehorne said, “Anyone who knows me, knows I would never condone such wickedness as sodomy or even TV.” Good to see someone is finally lumping those two things together.
Sehorne partially explained his gaffe by claiming he hasn’t had a TV in 35 years. The timeline makes sense as many people turned to fundamentalism after seeing the evil things portrayed on Three’s Company.
His eBook Bible Principles of Child Discipline has been removed from Amazon, but if you’re curious, you can still see the cached version here. Sehorne is currently in the process of finding a replacement image for the cover. Maybe if he prays hard enough, the Lord will provide him with an iStock photo account. God know the models who pose for stock photos have never done anything wicked.
