If you were flying out of New York City’s LaGuardia Airport last week and you missed your flight, these women’s shoes are probably the reason why.
The TSA posted the picture above on their Twitter account last Tuesday of a pair of high heeled shoes with fake revolvers as the heels. The guns themselves are totally harmless but wearing them would probably murder your feet.
ABC News reported an unnamed woman wore the shoes to the airport and surrendered them to a TSA agent without question since fake guns are banned. The shoes themselves go for about $60 – $125, and no, you wouldn’t look good in them, so don’t bother trying to get a pair of your own.
After confiscating the shoes, the TSA let the woman move on and that’s it: no interrogation or anything. According to ABC, since “the shoes were replica guns and voluntarily surrendered, a spokesperson for the TSA said, no arrest was made and no report taken.” Great, I’ll be sure to remember that the next time I’m getting strip searched because I forgot my hand sanitizer in my carry-on bag.
In case you’re curious, you can actually bring a gun onto an airplane as long as it’s unloaded and locked in a container. Regardless of that fact, the TSA’s blog claims that 49 firearms were confiscated last week alone. Just another day flying on ‘Murican Airlines.
