State Senator Aaron Osmond of Utah recently wrote on the Utah Senate blog that he wants to end compulsory education, saying that instead parents should decide whether or not their children attend school.
Granted, parents are legally allowed to homeschool, but to hell with that! This is ‘Murica! Parents should be able to raise completely ignorant children if they want! At least that’s what my Papi taught me during my homeschooling!!
Sen. Osmond argued that teachers have taken on too much of the burden of educating our kids — though it is worth pointing out that that is their job. He stated, “Some parents act as if the responsibility to educate, and even care for their child, is primarily the responsibility of the public school system.”
Yeah! Come on, you lazy parents, working multiple jobs to barely survive because politicians like Aaron Osmond don’t want to provide you a living wage! Get it together! Don’t you know you’re ruining America by not being able to spend as much time with your kids as you’d like?!
No wonder the government is keeping tabs on everyone.
Sen. Osmond goes further, saying, “As a result, our teachers and schools have been forced to become surrogate parents, expected to do everything from behavioral counseling, to providing adequate nutrition, to teaching sex education, as well as ensuring full college and career readiness.”
God forbid anyone teach sex education in Utah. Seriously. I’m pretty sure God forbids that.
“Let’s let them choose it, let’s not force them to do it,” Osmond is quoted as saying in the Deseret News. “I think that’s when you start seeing the shift.”
Yeah, a shift into becoming another uneducated and uninformed voter.
