Navenna Shine, a 65-year-old Seattle woman, is attempting to find out if you can survive on sunlight and water alone. I wonder if using a tanning bed would be considered cheating?
Now more than 33 days into her photosynthesis diet, she claims to be feeling fine. That is, except for the nausea, exhaustion, weakness, and dizziness.
Shine explained that she got the idea from a small group of obscure Yogis who call themselves the Breatharians. They’d probably like to become a bigger group but it’s hard to spread your beliefs when you’re so weak from malnourishment.
Breatharians claim some super crazytown things:They believe to have the ability to live on light alone and Shine wants to prove whether there’s any validity to that claim. So far the answer has been a resounding ‘no’ since four people have allegedy already died attempting Breatharianism.
To prove that she’s not sneaking in a bite of alfalfa grass here and there, Shine’s installed eight cameras around her house. You can also follow her on Facebook where she posts daily updates on Breatharian progress. And by progress I mean watch her slowly go mad with hunger. Good times.
