Yesterday this picture was posted on Taco Bell’s Facebook feed of an employee French kissing a stack of tacos shells. Yum.
The image was originally posted by a Facebook user and it wasn’t too long before it became more popular than their Cool Ranch Dorito Tacos.
Taco Bell tried to minimize the damage the picture caused with this cut and paste response, “We have strict food handling procedures and zero tolerance for any violations. We believe this is a prank and the food was not served to customers. We are conducting an investigation and will be taking swift action against those involved.”
As you’d expect, no one really listened. They may as well have just said, “blah, blah, blah, ya” for all the good it did.
As grossed out as some people are, trust me, it could be worse. Actually, it has been worse. KFC was in hot water for a while after two employees were allegedly caught bathing in the restaurant’s sink. And just a few months ago, horse meat was found in another chain’s food.
Basically, you should expect to get a little something “extra” when you eat at a fast food joint. There’s probably a reason why the big corporate chains are so over protective when it comes to their secret sauce.
It may be time to start brown-bagging it.
