Thomas Edison once said, “I didn’t fail. I just found 2,000 ways how not to make the light bulb; I only needed to find one way to make it work.” That never-give-up attitude lives on in one Canadian woman as she found three ways how not to stop a runaway car.
The delivery woman was working her 4AM paper route when she hit a snag and accidentally put the car in “reverse” instead of “park.” That’s when things got all Homer Simpson-y…
Apparently she was knocked over by the open door as the car moved backwards, and ran over one of her legs. The woman pulled herself up and tried another two more times to stop the car, each attempted ended in bone crushing failure. You know what they say, “If at first you don’t succeed, give up unless you are Thomas Edison.”
Residents in the area eventually heard her cries and helped her out. The ‘Christine’ car continued on its own circling in reverse and had to be stopped by the police. The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.
Good thing she was covered under that Canadian health care system. I don’t know many paper delivery men or women in this country who have health insurance.
