A couple of tourists visiting Iceland had to be rescued after getting themselves stranded on a floating glacier.
For some reason the group thought it would be a great idea to grab a few chairs, a table and have dinner on the floating chunk of ice. Yes, they were Americans.
But you really don’t need the article to tell you what nationality they were. The tourists displayed that classic mix rugged adventurism and stupidity that makes us so unique in the world. Who else would think a floating block of ice in the middle of nowhere would make a great picnic spot?
One of the tourists managed to jump onto land before the small glacier drifted too far away and ran to find help. The others were left to eat their dinner and chat about light subjects, like how to survive polar bear attacks or global warming.
