Houston Rockets singing Hanukkah song makes our dumb day

Share

Tonight is the 7th night of Hanukkah and if there’s one state in America where you might not expect to hear someone casually busting out a Hanukkah song, it’d be Texas. And if there is a place in Texas where you really wouldn’t expect to hear a Hanukkah song, it would be the locker room of a pro basketball team.

And today, both of those expectations are proven wrong. According to JewishVirtualLibrary.org,  Texas has a larger Jewish population than 40 other states in America, and perhaps because of that fact, several members of the Houston Rockets did us the favor of belting out the Dreidel Song, or trying to at least.  After the jump, watch the video… just try to keep your ears closed:

The Rockets are 10-11 on the season so far, and I’d say if I had to rate their singing ability, I’d put it at slightly under .500 — and yes, we gave a lot of points for the effort.
