Out of all the dumb things in this world, political advertising might be one of the dumbest. Here's an ad from Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon, which starts out just like a normal, boring political ad, until about the :13 second mark. Check it out:
"It is important that we give Linda McMahon a chance because we've given everybody else a chance, and they've failed."
Wow- there's a ringing endorsement for ya.
Nothing screams confidence like "when we have been given the choice in the past, we have not chosen Linda McMahon. When given the choice a second time, we again did not choose Linda McMahon. In fact, we have given everybody a chance first. You heard me. When given the choice of every inhabitant of Connecticut who at least 30 years old, and has been an American citizen for at least nine years, Linda McMahon literally came in last. So let's pick her now."
I mean, EVERYBODY else from Connecticut has been given a chance before Linda McMahon?
How was the Senate career of tough-guy character actor Brian Dennehy (born in Bridgeport)? How about Twilight author and Hartford native Stephanie Meyer?
Anyway, yes: EVERYBODY has already been given a chance and they have failed. I can't wait to see the new Linda McMahon bumper sticker…
Linda McMahon: Screw it! She's the only one left!
