Denny's, the chain restaurant best known for helping you get fat on your Birthday, is launching a special tie-in menu starting November 6th to coincide with the movie release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Clearly Hobbit fans will love the unexpected journey to high cholesterol and early death what with the likes of the Gandalf's gobble melt, Frodo's pot roast and the "Build Your Own Hobbit Slam."

But is Shire Sausage really something the little people of Middle Earth would eat? Apparently yes… keep reading for the full 411 including the official commercial and a preview of the magically delicious fare.

As Laine Doss writes in the Broward Palm Beach New Times:

Because Hobbits eat a s**tload of food, including a meal known as
"second breakfast," the chief marketing officer for Denny's, Frances
Allen, was quoted as saying, "We just felt with the two
breakfasts that whole notion of comfort eating and comfort food" were a
fit for the restaurant chain.

Plus the menu amps up the theme with descriptions like, "Only a Wizard
could dream up a sandwich this good" and notes like "Feeds a band of
Dwarves. Or one hungry human."

So there you have it: Lone-Lands Campfire Cookie Milkshake and Red Velvet Puppy Pancake Sundaes are exactly what J.R.R. Tolkien had in mind.

Oh and you get some collectible trading cards with your meal.  Hopefully if you get enough you can trade them for a Weight Watchers membership card.  You'll need one.
