The good news is that the man, Edward Archbold, won the cockroach eating contest. Hooray!

The bad news is that the 32-year-old died shortly after right outside the Deerfield Beach pet shop where the contest was held.

Apparently they are still trying to determine the cause of death so let's not rush to conclusions here — sure he ate dozens of roaches and worms — but he could have had a wicked hamster allergy.  Anyway, I think if you keep your roach intake steady you should be fine, but until we have the results of the autopsy let's not go on any bug binges, OK?
