Girl blames foot amputation on video game addiction

Share

FeetgamesThe next time you find your husband, boyfriend, roommate or teenager playing video games for hours on end, simply tell them the tragic tale of Roxanne Myers, the girl who supposedly lost her feet to excessive gaming.

For her thesis on video games and addiction, Myers (pictured, left) went on a two-day gaming binge. She soon fell asleep with her legs crossed, inadvertently causing her to lose circulation. Due to an undiagnosed condition she already had, she developed blood clots and had to have both feet amputated.

This is not dumb. It is tragic and sad and horrible. What is dumb is the fact that Myers blames the loss of her toes on video games. The games didn't do it. Her disease did. She could have fallen asleep at the movies watching Magic Mike and still lost a limb. Wanna know what's even dumber? This extremely uncomfortable and awkward video interview (including feet pics) with Myers and some tool who seriously doesn't know how to conduct an interview or have any empathy whatsover toward another human being.

Meet Roxanne Myers, the girl who lost her feet due to video games, supposedly (photos and video)
