Have you ever found yourself being picked on by the neighborhood bully? Well, don't worry because they'll get their just desserts! At least I think that's the message in this PSA. The problem is that Erykah Badu is incredibly vague in the intro when she says, "Have you ever been teased?" And just before I can ask myself why is Erykah Badu wearing the '90s hat of shame, the PSA cuts to a scene.
The scene itself didn’t really make any sense, it just came out of nowhere with some kids laughing at the other kids for no reason at all. For all I know, it could have been about gang violence between the Mommy Pants Gang and the 3rd Street Blue Jean Crew. Whatever the case may be, the point of a PSA is to teach a lesson and here's what I learned from watching this video:
- Always look both ways before you taunt someone in the street.
- Denim won't protect you from oncoming traffic.
- Never bully a witch with car summoning powers.
- Lemonade will instantly make you forget about your dead friend.
As weird as the scene was, it became especially bizarre when the video cut to Sarah McLachlan’s song, "Angel". Not exactly a great choice for a bully who kind of had it coming. Although in his defense, those kids were pretty hilariously bad at throwing a ball.
