Watch Microsoft’s new tablet freeze up in front of a live audience

Share

If you really want to make Microsoft's new "iPad killer" look good here's a tip: don't open Internet Explorer! Unfortunately for this Steve Jobs wannabe, the Surface he was presenting froze because he did exactly that. So what goes through the mind of a guy who's left holding a multi-million dollar glass tray in front of a bunch of tech nerds? I don't know exactly but if I learned anything from watching reruns of Lie To Me I suspect he was probably thinking one of these things:

"AGRH! I just had to plug Internet Explorer!"

"Ok, just talk about Netflix because everyone loves movies, right?"

"Maybe if I position the tablet away from the cameras no one will notice."

"WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CAMERAS?"

"Gulp!"

"Doo-dee-doo nothing unusual here, just grabbing another tablet."

And everyone in the audience was thinking one thing: "Fail."

If Microsoft is serious about competing with Apple, a company that has a monopoly on all things new and shiny, they'd better start upping their game. Until then, people will most likely be sharing this video on their iPad.
