If you start a conversation with, "I'm not a racist, but…" you should probably shut your pie hole, because whatever you're about to say is going to sound totally racist.

This is only one of several groups of words that signal it is probably time to stop to shut it. If you hear any one of these seven phrases, run for the hills, 'cause rest assured you will not like what is to come after. Or if you're about to utter them, just stop right there, unless you enjoy losing friends and alienating people.
