Is U.S. teen pregnancy at an all-time low because sexually active teenage boys finally smartened up and started wearing two condoms at the same time ?
The answer to that question (which should hopefully be obvious) is no.
The idea that wearing two condoms would be more effective at preventing pregnancy than one is a MYTH, and not just because "doubling up" during sex would likely lead to a level of sensation shockingly similar to what scientists call "not having sex at all." But here's the more serious problem: Instead of providing a double layer of impenetrable latex, the friction between the condoms would increase the chance of both prophylactics tearing, and then where are you? That's right, getting phone calls to be on a MTV reality show, and not one where you stay in a free beach house and party all the time.
The myth of the double condom is only one of an impressive list of things not to do or believe about sex that we started with our 15 DUMBEST SEX MYTHS gallery, and now continues in a gallery called 15 EVEN DUMBER SEX MYTHS. Should this go on to be as massive a success as it's forebear, look for a series of additional DUMB SEX MYTHS galleries whose titles will resemble collections of Garfield comic strips.
It's gonna be a franchise, yo.
