The infuriatingly dumb Texan judge in this video is Lanny Moriarty, who (ironically enough) shares the same last name as Sherlock Holmes' arch villain. And like any arch villain he's a completely detestable, sad excuse of a human being. Judge Moriarty recently sentenced Texas high school student Diane Tran to 24 hours in jail and gave her a hundred dollar fine for missing school too many times. He probably figured since Tran is an honors student and has two jobs that she's smart enough to figure out how to pay for the fine.
However, Judge Moriarty and the reporter forgot to ask one painfully obvious question: Where are the parents in this poor girl's life? Why aren't THEY in jail for abandoning their kids? Unfortunately, this evil judge was too busy making an example of this girl to ask those obvious questions.
His only response to his critics was, "Well if you let one of them run loose, what are ya gonna do wit the rest of 'em?" I'm sure that's the same question most of us are asking about terrible judges.
