Sports injuries are no laughing matter, unless it involves falling face first into a puddle of water then all bets are off!
Watching this you'd think this event is some kind of college Rush Week hazing or a leftover video from April Fool's Day but no, it's an actual sport called the Steeplechase event. The poor guy in the video participating in this sport failed to make the jump, hitting his shins on the top of the hurdle making a loud 'thud' noise that would make anyone cringe. Unfortunately, I found myself laughing at the guy as he fell face first into a puddle of water.
It kind of makes you think that the inventor of this sport added a puddle of water to keep the mood light as spectators saw bones and dreams being broken. It seemed to work too, because the crowd giggled when the poor guy face planted into the water. And to literally add insult to injury, the giggles turned into all out laughter when the other athlete used his head as a step ladder.
At least when the other guy landed on him, he said, "Sorry, dude!" Even in the most comical of sports fails, it's nice to know there's still room for sportsmanship.
