We love to watch the rich and famous glitterati spontaneously combust and burn out — it makes us feel better about our own crap lives. We point and laugh at their stupidity, on occasion feel a sprinkle of sympathy, and blame them harshly for their own sad inadequacies.

But do we ever stop to blame those who might really be responsible? Oh, perhaps the fame-hungry parents of these celebrities? If you thrust your child into the limelight before they can legally make their own decisions, vote and drink, a train wreck or five is bound to hit the fan. Five bucks says Dina Lohan and Billy Ray Cyrus saw themselves as supportive parents merely helping their children realize a dream. Surely they had no idea that allowing their kiddos to grow up under the scrutiny of the public eye would eventually lead to several DUIs and a “salvia” addiction… right?
