It always amazes me how movies make us think we can do things that just can't be done in real life. Basic physics alone says you can't outrun a moving freight train on a gas powered dirt bike, survive a fall by tying yourself to a firehose or score with the hot girl if you're a bookish dork on your personality alone.
Here's further proof that the movies are distorting our sense of reality. This fleeing defendant gets trapped in a hallway by the cops and the only way out is an encased window. We've all seen this iconic action movie scene before EXCEPT the window doesn't break the way it does when Batman jumps through it. If the criminal had a stunt double standing in for him, he would have gotten away.
