After hearing that Penn State's longtime football coach Joe Paterno had been fired, Ashton Kutcher immediately took to his Twitter to defend the man to his 8 million+ followers. "How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste," he tweeted.
Ashton's ignorant, ill-informed faux pas was immediately put in check by a storm of angry Twitter users. You see, the Two and a Half Men star was probably the only person in the world who didn't know that Paterno was potentially involved in a cover-up regarding assistant coach Jerry Sandusky's alleged sexual abuse of young boys. Upon realizing his mistake, Ashton quickly backpedaled, deleting his tacky tweet, explaining that he had been working and didn't know the full story. The vicious tweets kept coming, so Ashton decided to stop tweeting entirely until he had a "Twitter management" plan. This plan was detailed on his blog, which basically entails turning over his Twitter to his PR team. What a novel idea!
