Parents of celebrities are dumb, but that's not really a surprise.

All parents are clueless. Every single one of them makes terrible mistakes, and children all over the globe are shaped by them. Eventually, these warped little anklebiters grow into dysfunctional grown-ups. They then screw up their own kids, and turn, turn turn.

It's the way of the world,and I say this as a parent myself.

Parents are aware of it too.They know they are going to make mistakes, and that's why you rarely hear a parent bragging about their own parenting. Instead, they go the cheap way out, by either over-praising their children, or over-criticizing other parents.

When a mother tells you that "Matthew started talking at one," they want you to infer that because their kid did something right, THEY deserve praise, which couldn't be farther from the truth. Nowhere in Albert Einstein's biography does it say "When the father of relativity was 13 months old, he was a GREAT eater!" The other way parents praise themselves is by pointing out how terrible OTHER parents are. If a father says "That family just lets their kids go to bed WHENEVER," he wants you to infer that he is a wonderful father who imposes strict rules, for the child's own good.
