Police in Midway, Georgia have busted a dangerous kid-run organization. The crime? An attempt to refresh thirsty, over-heated adults with an illegally manufactured liquid substance made out of sugar, water and lemons. The streetname of this illicit product is "Lemonade."
According to police, the children had no business license or required permits to peddle the unknown substance and shut down the operation.
Upon further investigation it could not be determined who made the pale yellow liquid drink or if they got the ratio of sweet to sour correct. Samples were taken to a laboratory for further testing.
The motivation behind this crime ring was far more disturbing. The children were attempting to turn a profit with the illegal sales and manufacturing of "Lemonade" to fund a trip to a nearby water park, a "slippery slope" if I've ever heard of one. The girls had been successfully turning over the product for close to a day before police were tipped off.
According to the report, the girls will have to continue raising money to fund their dream vacation just like every other honest, hard working American. They'll have to do chores, because no one escapes the long arm of the law in Georgia.
If you are a child looking to operate a lemonade stand the permit costs $180/ year or $50/ day.
