The verdict of the Casey Anthony trial is in. Acquitted of the murder of her 2-year-old daughter by a jury of her peers, the case is closed. Except when it comes to the media. Talking heads on television pontificated and bloggers raged.
But even those professional babblers can agree on one thing: late-night comedian mainstay Jay Leno bombed when he unleashed some 'zingers' about the trial on his talk show.
"In a stunning decision, Casey Anthony found not guilty, not guilty. You know what this means? This means President Obama's economic team is only the most second clueless people in America, that's what it means," joked Leno. But his studio audience didn't laugh.
Leno blamed technical difficulties for the silence, only to repeat the joke and recieve applause, somehow causing his whole audience to flip-flop on their reaction. Did Leno's remark deserve a second chance?
