Berlin-based artist and tinkerer Niklas Roy has devised a rather inefficient way to ensure privacy in his studio.
He has installed a curtain, which although not large enough to cover the entire window of his workspace, does happen to be attached to a camera, a computer, and an automated motor, so it automatically moves to block the view of any passersby. Check it out:
Of course, he admits on his website:
My moving curtain attracts the looks of people which usually would never care about my window. It is even the star of the street, now! My curtain is just engaged. And because of that, it fails.
Seeing as what we are looking here is more art project than home improvement, it may be that we can call it clever just for inspiring a reaction of any kind, but on the other hand, this does seem like a WHOLE lot of work just to make your curtain zip around your window, right?
So what do you think? Is the motion sensitive mini-curtain DUMB…or CLEVER?
