Stephan Crane, pictured, broke into the Ravalli Republic newspaper office this week, sat down at a computer, logged into his Facebook and MySpace accounts and perused porn, according to cops in Hamilton, MT. He left the newsroom and headed to his sister's apartment across the hall from the Republic, where police, following the trail of stolen candy Crane allegedly dropped, arrested him.
In the least amusing part of the story, Crane also allegedly doused the news room with a fire extinguisher.
Police detectives say Crane confessed to the crime shortly after his arrest.
Sound like a Judd Apatow flick? Yep, it sure does. But it’s just today’s Dumb Criminal.
Crane, 19, admitted tossing back a few pops and said he broke into the newsroom because he couldn’t get into his sister’s apartment, according to a police report.
Crane was charged with burglary and criminal mischief and a misdemeanor count of theft.
