Darren B. Stiles, pictured, went to Marion County Courthouse in Florida to answer some traffic tickets and ended up arrested on charges that he stole another man's belongings from the basket you put your stuff in before going through a metal detector, according to police in Ocala.
Authorities allegedly found Stiles, 22, inside a courtroom wearing the victim's watch. He also reportedly was in possession of the victim's credit cards. Stiles, as you might expect, said it was all a misunderstanding, claiming he thought the items belonged to "a friend."
Of course, if he thought it belonged to a friend, that totally explains why the man's wallet was found in the bathroom empty of everything but a license and social security card. He must have thought his friend would never need those.
Already on felony probation for trafficking stolen property, Stiles was arrested and charged with grand theft.
