Is shoe throwing the funky new epidemic plaguing our towns? Sunday’s loafer attack on President Bush has inspired at least one copycat. Stephen Millies of Queens (NY) was fixin’ to throw his Red Wing work shoe at New York transit chief Elliot Sander during a hearing on Wednesday, in response to proposed fair hikes. Cops tackled and arrested Millies before any shoes were flung.
Viral games like "Sock and Awe" have also popped up, giving anyone the chance to virtually experience what it would be like to hurl footwear at the Commander in Chief.
