Rise Of Ape Planet Begins With Genius Chimp
Ayumu is an extraordinary chimp. He's the son of the famed chimpanzee Ai, who the BBC says has been one of the top ape research subjects for 30 years — but better yet, he can whimp your butt in a game of Memory.
"Ayumu the chimp can remember the location and order of a set of numbers in less time than it takes the average human to blink," the BBC noted in its ongoing special, Super Smart Animals. "The prodigous [animal] can solve the puzzle in 60 milliseconds, at Kyoto University, Japan."
60 milliseconds? That seems a bit of an exaggeration, but check out the extraordinary video here… and tell us: is this what historians will say was the first sign of the coming Rise of the Planet of the Apes?
